Faceless fashion photography

Faceless fashion photography is a genre that explores new trends and styles in clothing and accessories to allude the viewer to buy what is advertised in the image. While creating an image that allows the imagination to interpret observations of small and large details of the subject without a facial expression to dictate the image's mood, with the help of a skilful lighting setup which is the light that shapes and defines a face and emphasizes certain features over others.

For a model that is very shy to be in front of a lens, this is the perfect platform for them to remain being themselves.

This is a very conceptual genre, as it all starts with developing a concept, scouting for a location, and then finding a suitable model to complement a scene. However, what matters in this project is how clothes would create a mystery by alluding the viewer to focus on style than on how the model looks.

What matters is finding the proper lighting techniques that suit the concept's mood and consistently produce the same quality of work. For my project, I am using a specific theme: nature - every photograph has its style, but the only constant thing is the use of nature as background (location) and moody lighting.

What inspired me to pursue this project is the album art of Young Thug's 'No, My Name Is Jeffery' album artwork as it was the most conceptual artwork of all times; the photographer made the male model wear a garment which is something new we all know that females wear garments.

With the help of magazines and other media sources, I find inspiration in creating most of the work. The only thing that sometimes stresses me out is having to be dropped by the models at the last minute, but I have learnt to find backup models before so that when people drop, you can at least find a replacement as long as you have made a concept development.
